Our Church

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church was organized on September 5, 1893 as a Missionary Baptist Church.
Among the preachers presiding were J.D. King, R.W. King, and W. H. Ray. A collection was taken for the printing of the minutes and received 50 cents.
They met in the building that was used as the community school where Samuel (Sam) Pennington Doan was the teacher. He also was the singing leader in the Church for many years.
From that day unto this present time we have seen our membership grow from 18 members to around 200 members.
